NASCAR FANS! ARE YOU READY FOR KANSAS? - And, are you ready for a BBQ Sundae? How about a large juicy hamburger? How about a burger that's half beef and half bacon? Well, if your inner-foodie is drooling then it may be time for you to head to Kansas Speedway for the running of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Toyota Tundra 250 and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series SpongeBob SquarePants 400. While you're there check out the expanded menu offerings geared towards barbecue lovers.

BBQ Sundae: Let's start with some ice cream... well, it's not really ice cream... but it is a Sundae! The BBQ Sundae is served in a traditional sundae cup and features mashed potatoes, BBQ pulled pork, shredded cheddar cheese. It is then drizzled with BBQ sauce and topped with a cherry tomato. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I love it - a barbecue meal in a cup!

50/50 Burger: Ok, so you've had a BBQ Sundae during your trip to Kansas Speedway but you're ready for a full meal after your snack. Why not grab a burger. Wait, this is Kansas! You can't just have a small burger on a stale bun! Heck now - get into the grilling and barbecue heritage of the state and go for the gusto! Try the 50/50 Burger! It's a big burger patty made from ground beef infused with ground bacon. The juicy, and flavor packed burger is topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and cheddar cheese.

Concessions: You'll still find a wide variety of foods for all tastes on the menu's at Kansas Speedway. It's no secret that race tracks have realized that fan's today are also often foodies and expect more. The days of stale popcorn, bland burgers, and hotdogs on buns from a day old bread sale are long gone! Kansas Speedway is a great example of a facility that offers food that's moved past traditional concession stand items. Heather Lichtenauer, of Americrown which is the leader in motorsports catering, says that many of the menu items at Kansas Speedway are based on flavors associated with Kansas - which of course includes barbecue!

"Being in the land of BBQ, we have tried to also make it a focus on our menu," Lichtenauer said. "From pulled pork sandwiches to our KC Que Burger and KC Que dog – both topped with pulled pork, barbecue sauce and onion rings. With it being a sport’s facility, you can never go wrong with hamburgers and hot dogs. So we try to get creative with a buffalo dog, cheeseburger dog, jalapeno burger and Swiss & mushroom burger to name a few."

Oh, and in case racing and barbecue were not enough... Kansas Speedway is also home to the Hollywood Casino! The casino is open year round and features entertainment, fine dining, and more!
