Big Time BLT Sandwich with Avocado Mayonnaise

Everyone has a go-to sandwich that makes all the bad stuff go away. For many, it’s a BLT sandwich. Crispy bacon, fresh crunchy lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and melted cheese in between generous amounts of avocado mayonnaise. Need I say more?

Preparing this savory treat is no sweat at all. If you’ve ever said to yourself, “I’m not a cook,” or, “I just really can’t prepare a meal for myself,” well, not to worry because what you are about to make is something everyone can do. And I mean everyone. If you know how to fry a couple of eggs and some bacon, then you are good to go!

This BLT sandwich recipe serves four and will take 15-20 minutes to prepare. So, if you’re having friends over, or you want to impress your significant other, or you just want to treat yourself to some delicious sandwiches, then this is for you. Now let’s get to it!

First, go get what you need!

  •    4 English muffins
  •    4 eggs
  •    2 avocados
  •    50 ml of mayonnaise
  •    2 tomatoes
  •    8 leaves of lettuce
  •    12 slices of bacon
  •    4 slices of cheese
  •    pepper
  •    salt

On to the avocado mayonnaise

The first thing you should do is to halve and pit the avocados. Scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash the avocados with a fork and put in the mayonnaise. Once you have that all mixed together, season it with salt and pepper.

The amount of salt and pepper you add is entirely up to you. After all, it is your sandwich!

Once you’ve adjusted the mixture to your liking, set it aside.

Now slice and fry!

It’s time to get your hands a little dirty. Wash and prepare the lettuce, and then slice the tomatoes.

Now, fry the bacon over medium heat until crisp. This would take around 8-10 minutes. Once all the bacon slices are done, drain them on some paper towels and set aside.

Next, fry the eggs, season with salt and pepper, and the frying is done!

Toast those muffins!

On to those lovely English muffins. There’s nothing like perfectly toasted English muffins to add a little extra crunch to that sandwich. Heat a pan over high heat and cut all four muffins in half. Once ready, toast the muffins and make sure you heat both sides until they turn golden brown.

Put it all together

Now, here’s the most exciting part: putting it all together in layers. Take generous amounts of the avocado mayonnaise and spread it on the inside of both muffin halves. Now start at the bottom, adding the veggies first. Two leaves of lettuce and two to three slices of tomatoes.

After that, add one fried egg, one slice of cheese, and three crispy bacon slices. To finish, top it off with the other muffin half with the avocado mayonnaise.

Finally, look at your creation and congratulate yourself on a job well done. You now have your very own mouth-watering BLT sandwich. Take that first bite and enjoy your treat!
