BBQ Sauced Steaks

Bonus - CHEATER SAUCE! Ok, so you don't have time to make the sauce above but you like the idea of a barbecue sauce with hearty steak sauce leanings. Simple, grab your favorite barbecue sauce and add in some of your favorite steak sauce. I follow the two - one ratio. If you like barbecue sauce better. Two part barbecue sauce to one part steak sauce. And, if you like steak sauce flavor better - two parts steak sauce to one part barbecue sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar cider
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 squirt lemon or lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon hotsauce
  • 1 dash liquid smoke
  • Chopped green onions or scallions

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Version One: Marinate the steaks overnight if possible in some of the sauce, covered, and chilled in the fridge. Reserve the remaing sauce for later use when you are grilling. Ready your grill and grill the steaks as you normally would. Baste before removing from grill and serving with some of the remaining sauce.
  3. Version Two: Cool and drench steaks in sauce before grilling over charcoal and hickory chips. When you turn brush steak again with sauce. Repeat constantly as grilling, serve up!
