Water Makes Leaf Vodka Awesome!

Plain old water? Heck no! How about Alaskan Glacial Water – the Green Bottle – or Rocky Mountain Mineral Water which is the Blue Bottle – for two distinct vodkas?

Here’s how LEAF explains it! “LEAF Vodka made from Alaskan Glacial Water has a pure, smooth taste with a hint of sweetness while LEAF Vodka made from Rocky Mountain Mineral Water offers richness and complexity, lending a warm and savory impression on the palate.” Yes – we agree! And so do others.

To date, LEAF has won over 20 awards since 2014 including multiple Double Gold and Best in Show awards from a variety of organizations including the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the San Diego Spirits Festival, TheFiftyBest.com, the SIP International Consumer Tasting Awards, and the Ultimate Spirits Challenge among others.

The Quick and Easy LEAF Vodka Taste Test

Nothing starts out a great evening like saying this. “The reason you’re all here tonight is to taste test some vodka!” Talk about getting some attention! Here’s what we did.

We severed up a small taste of both the Alaskan Glacial Water and Rocky Mountain Mineral water versions of LEAF Vodka and asked for three to four word descriptions. Our group consisted of five people -all of whom fancy a nice vodka based drink. No one knew the brand or any backstory to the vodka. Here’s some of the words used to describe both types of LEAF Vodka.

  • “Crisp, very clean.”
  • “Lite, not overly ‘vodka’ tasting.”
  • “No cheap aftertaste.”
  • “Fresh.”

Pick One! Then we asked if there was a notable difference in the flavor of the two samples and to select the one they preferred. The response was five people saying there was a notable difference with three selecting the Alaskan Glacial LEAF Vodka and two selecting the Rocky Mountain Mineral Water LEAF Vodka. Then we made everyone some drinks to celebrate a successful test!
